Youngpreneures – European Commission Findings Did you know? Women aged 18–34 make up about 35% of new female entrepreneurs in Europe — yet they still represent only ~10% of all startup founders overall. UNITY – International Day for Countering Hate Speech Today, and every day, Connectus reaffirms its commitment to stand firmly against hate speech. We advocate for a society rooted in respect, human dignity, and the richness of diversity. In alignment with this year’s International Day for Countering Hate Speech theme— “Enhancing Legal and Non-Legal Measures Against Hate Speech Through a Multi-Stakeholder Approach”— Connectus continues its broader commitment to combating hate through various initiatives. Among them is #UNITY – United Against Hate Speech & Hate Crime, a project launched this year in partnership with 6 partner countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Netherlands and Belgium. UNITY represents a strategic and long-term effort to address hate speech and hate crime by: Raising public awareness Educating and engaging diverse communities Providing support to victims of hate speech and hate crime Promoting tolerance, inclusion, and solidarity Hate speech is not an opinion, it is a form of violence, discrimination, and a direct threat to social cohesion. Join us in building a safer, more respectful society. Speak up. Stand firm. Take action—online and offline—against hate in all its forms.

HikeWise – Why hiking? Why now? Taking a step into nature is more than fresh air — it’s a way for young people to experience the roots of sustainable living. Hiking helps students build physical health, environmental awareness, self-reflection, and resilience. Connecting with nature early on is key to developing lifelong sustainable habits. That’s why schools should make space for hiking and outdoor learning — where environmental education comes alive beyond textbooks. Now is the time to bring young people closer to nature and help them feel a sense of responsibility for protecting our planet!

New Project: ESG Essentials Here at Connectus, we are excited be part of a brand-new Erasmus+ project that empowers SMEs to adopt Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices across the EU. Organised by partners from six countries (Malta, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Spain and Bulgaria), ESG Essentials will help SMEs become more sustainable, attract investment, and align with the Net Zero transition, through training materials, implementation frameworks, and digital tools. Our kick-off meeting will take place on on July 18 in Malta, so stay tuned for updates!

New Project: UNITY We’re proud to announce Connectus‘s participation in Uniting Youth Power Against Intolerance (UNITY), a new project under the CERV programme! Involving organisations from six countries (Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, the Netherlands and Portugal), UNITY addresses one of Europe’s growing challenges: hate speech and hate crime, especially among and against youth. Through this project, we aim to: combat the root causes of hate among young people raise public awareness support victims of hate promote more inclusive policies We’d love to take you along in this journey, so stay tuned!

HikeWise – First TPM in Athens! Our first Transnational Project Meeting for the HikeWise project, hosted by Connectus!   We are excited to share the successful completion of the first Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) of the HIKE WISE project! Partners from across Europe came together in beautiful Athens to review our project’s progress, align on upcoming milestones, and strengthen our collaboration. Agenda Highlights:Review of impact indicators & project timeline (UFV – Coordinator)WP2 & WP3 updates, including needs analysis conclusions and handbook planning (RHIZO, UFV) Dissemination & exploitation strategy review (CONNECTUS, MUGLA – Lead) Financial planning, quality assurance & risk evaluation (CONNECTUS – Lead) Final wrap-up with next steps, impact discussion, and meeting evaluation (UFV) Lively discussions, strong teamwork, and a shared commitment to our goals made this TPM a true success. We’re now better equipped to move forward with delivering meaningful results for HIKE WISE! The day concluded with a group photo and the distribution of participation certificates.
