UNITY - Country Studies Report Insights
What does digital hate look like across Europe and how does it affect young people?
Within the UNITY Project, we developed the Country Studies on Prevalence and Legal Framework, a comparative report exploring digital hate speech and hate crime among youth in six EU countries.
The findings show that online hate is not marginal but embedded in the digital spaces young people use every day. It is often normalised and underreported, with real consequences for participation, wellbeing, and inclusion.
By combining research, lived experiences, and cross country analysis, the report provides a strong evidence base to support policy, strengthen responses, and promote safer digital environments.
From evidence to action, we are working towards more inclusive and respectful online spaces for all.
